it is strange when escaping hell how a cool breeze kisses your cheek in the middle of the night and suddenly you are standing on a street with bright lights drenched with sweat. across the road a million incandescent bulbs hum with luscious electricity. ensconced in ornate lampshades like the prayer candles before the virgin they hum together. it is a shrine to the field that once sat where this light bulb store is now, a shrine to the scale forests that covered the earth like a thick oxygen rich blanket.
