stretch light through thin slits and bend around wind currents. don't let your halo get snagged on old telegraph wire.

One time i was walking by the debris of the downtown post office in the wee hours of the morning before the sun came up when i heard the sound of a large truck backing up. the beep beep beep. it was odd because there was nothing around me but the sentient trash scurrying across the damp streets like 2d raccoons. No large trucks in sight. As i walked under the orange light of a still lit lamppost the truck seemed to be right above me backing up.

I looked up and it was a mockingbird who had learned to imitate that sound perfectly.
